Your Teeth after Invisalign®

Just look at that smile! You have just completed a successful Invisalign treatment with Dr. Ritholtz. But how should you care for your teeth after Invisalign? Let’s find out:

Retainers

After an Invisaligntreatment, you will need to wear retainers to keep your teeth from shifting. The bones and tissues surrounding your teeth are still soft in some areas and will need some time to get used to their new positions. But, don’t worry! The retainers will look exactly like your clear Invisalign aligners…totally unnoticeable!

Depending on your specific case, you may need to wear the retainers during the day and at night. Eventually, you will only need to wear your retainer for a certain amount of time, most likely only at night. And, just like your Invisalign aligners, you can remove the retainers before eating and drinking. Just make sure to rinse them before re-inserting and to always carry your storage case with you.

Dental Care

Taking care of your dental health at home is always important. Make sure to floss daily and to brush your teeth twice a week. With your straighter smile, you may find that caring for your teeth is easier, especially when it comes to flossing. If you have any questions about caring for your teeth at home, Dr. Ritholtz is always happy to help!
